Gardeners in Brandon, Goshen, and Sudbury will once again open their private gardens to support our beloved library. The theme this year is "Joy of Gardening," and the selected gardens highlight this in many ways. Some gardens are professionally designed, installed, and maintained landscapes; others focus on growing the best and the biggest plants. Some are new, while others have been lovingly tended for decades. All belong to garden enthusiasts and express the joy of gardening.

(Visitors) get ideas for their own home, and they bring it back and say, ‘Oh, you know, I never thought about doing it this way,’ or ‘I love how this one has the raised beds.’ And they get to talk with the owners about how they do it,” Aron said.

And it’s not just about getting to be inspired by beautiful landscapes. Many of these tours offer learning opportunities. In Brandon, where 12 area gardens will be open the weekend of July 25, the lineup includes a master composter who will talk to visitors about the ins and outs of composting, a working farm and nursery, and a gardener who specializes in growing jumbo-sized sunflowers and pumpkins.
