Received a Temporary Relief From Abuse Order that needed to be served on a defendant reportedly residing on Mulcahy Drive. It was later determined that the individual was not in Brandon but rather residing in the Town of Sudbury.

Threats/Harassment, Park Street

A Park Street resident called the police to report that a teenager was harassing her by driving by her residence and yelling at her.

Welfare Check, Townline Drive

Officers conducted a requested welfare check on an individual on Townline Drive. The individual was found to be okay and in good spirits.

Crash - Non-Reportable, Supermarket Drive

A late-reported crash was reported to the Brandon Police that occurred in the parking lot of the Hannaford Supermarket. The incident was documented for insurance purposes.

Domestic Disturbance, Mulcahy Drive

A resident from Mulcahy Drive came into the police station to report that she had been involved in a domestic altercation with her husband.

Alarm, Franklin Street

Received a report of a burglary alarm activation at the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street.

Fraud, Carver Street

An individual came to the Brandon Police Department to report a fraud.

Motor Vehicle Complaint, McConnell Road

Officers were dispatched to the area of McConnell Road for a motor vehicle complaint. The vehicle in question had left the area prior to officers arrival.

Assist - Agency, Forest Dale Road

The Brandon Police assisted the New York State Police regarding a background investigation they were conducting on an applicant for their agency.

Violation of Conditions of Release, North Street

A complaint was made by a resident on North Street regarding a family member who was allegedly continuing to violate his court conditions of release despite having been charged numerous times for committing the same offense.

Trespass, Carver Street/Syndicate Road

A property owner who owns property in the Town of Brandon contacted the Brandon Police Department regarding someone "squatting" in an RV on his land. The complainant was advised of the options that were available to remove the individual(s).

Juvenile Problem, Franklin Street

An officer met with a juvenile at Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street regarding alleged ongoing physical and mental abuse that the child was being subjected to by his father at home. An investigation was opened, and the Vermont Department for Children and Families was contacted regarding the report made to the police and school officials.

Larceny - from Building, Forest Dale Road

A tenant residing at an apartment building on Forest Dale Road called to report that her landlord broke into her safe, took her handgun, and is refusing to give it back to her. An investigation was opened, and criminal charges will be sought regarding the theft of the firearm.

Alarm, Grove Street

An officer was dispatched to the Lucky 7 Dispensary on Grove Street for a burglary alarm activation. The alarm was later canceled by the alarm company, so no police response was necessary.

Vandalism, Mulcahy Drive

An officer responded to a 911 call at an apartment complex on Mulcahy Drive for a report of a 5-year-old child who had scratched a car door in the parking lot. The incident was documented for insurance and/or informational purposes.

Motor Vehicle Complaint, Carver Street/Union Street

An officer conducting directed traffic enforcement in the area of Nickerson Road and Franklin Street observed a teenage male operating an electric motorcycle on a public road without a license plate, passing him in the roadway. The officer attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on the dirt bike, but the driver fled from the officer at a high rate of speed. The officer kept distance from the operator with lights and siren activated and followed the rider to the Pittsford town line on Florence Road before breaking off from attempting to stop him due to the rider's reckless driving and apparent inexperience handling the bike at high speeds. The officer was able to identify a person of interest and will be investigating the matter further for the purposes of both civil (moving violations) and criminal charges.

Welfare Check, Townline Drive

The Brandon Police Department received a welfare check request from Brandon Community Health regarding a female who hadn't been heard from and resided on Town Line Road. The responding officer located the individual at her home and determined that she was safe and sound.

Assist - Public, Saint Johns Road

Officers were made aware of a scam that had occurred. During the investigation, it was found that the incident had occurred in Sudbury. The complaint was then forwarded to the Vermont State Police-Rutland for further investigation.

Traffic Hazard, North Street

Officers received a report of a large piece of construction equipment blocking a lane of travel on North Street. An officer went to the area and observed that there was work being done on the water lines at a residence and that the area had been properly coned off for safety.

Motor Vehicle Complaint, Franklin Street

Received a call from the Rutland Supervisory Union reporting that one of their school buses was being followed from Stevens Road in Pittsford to the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street by an irate male parent in a black pickup truck. Officers responded to the school a few minutes later, but no contact was made with the individual.

Traffic Stop, Conant Square

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Conant Square near the Dunkin Donuts for defective equipment. The officer conducting the stop was later able to determine that the driver had a civilly suspended driver's license and that the vehicle's inspection sticker was expired. The operator was issued a ticket for having a suspended driver's license and warnings for having an expired inspection sticker and defective equipment (inoperative headlight).

Traffic Stop, Carver Street/Union Street

A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the intersection of Carver Street and Union Street for making an illegal turn at a red light. The operator was subsequently issued a ticket for the violation.

Animal Incident, Nickerson Road/Franklin Street

Officers observed a motorist parked on the side of Franklin Street by Nickerson Road without hazard lights on. The driver then advised that they had found an injured hawk. The driver was then put in contact with the Vermont Institute of Natural Science so the hawk could be rehabilitated.

Illegal Dumping, Carver Street

Received another complaint of illegal dumping on Carver Street in which tires and a couch had been left in the area.

Fraud, Champlain Street

Laws Agricultural Service Inc. called the police department to report fraudulent charges that had been made on the company's checking account. The incident was later determined to have occurred in Middlebury, but a report was put on file to document the activity in case more fraud is discovered at a later date.

Welfare Check, Mulcahy Drive

A requested welfare check on an individual and their child on Mulcahy Drive was made by the Burlington Police Department. Officers were unable to make contact with the family. Burlington PD later made contact with that family and checked their welfare, where the family advised they were okay and safe.

TRO/FRO Service, Church Street

Brandon Police were assigned to serve a Temporary Relief From Abuse Order on a resident of Church Street. The subject was not located at the residence in question.

Crash - Non-Reportable, Supermarket Drive

A minor hit-and-run motor vehicle crash was reported to the Brandon Police that occurred in the parking lot of the Hannaford Supermarket. The incident was documented for insurance purposes.

Assist - Agency, Maple Street

Brandon Police assisted the Second District Court of New Hampshire in serving a Neglect Petition on a Brandon resident who was last known to be living in the Maple Street area. The individual was later located by an officer with the Middlebury Police Department, and the order was served in hand.

Traffic Stop, Franklin Street

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Franklin Street for defective equipment and for not having an inspection sticker on the vehicle. A warning was issued to the operator.

Traffic Stop, McConnell Road/Van Cortland Road

A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the intersection of McConnell Road and Van Cortland Road for an uninspected motor vehicle. A warning was issued to the operator.
