Burglary alarm activation reported at the Lucky 7 Dispensary on Grove Street. Dispatch later was advised that a keyholder had contacted the alarm company and provided them with the proper alarm code, so no police response was necessary.

A complainant called the police department to report that an elderly woman allegedly cut off her son while he was riding his bicycle in the area of Park Street and Marble Street and that the woman threatened him.

Stolen Vehicle, Newton Road

Brandon Police took a report of a stolen ATV from a residence on Newton Road. The ATV is a 2014, dark green Yamaha Grizzly. No license plate was given.

Found/Lost Property, Supermarket Drive

Some bank cards and a necklace were found at the Hannaford Supermarket on Supermarket Drive and turned in to the Brandon Police for safekeeping. The cardholder's bank was contacted about the found card, and they advised that they would reach out to the owner to let them know that their property had been located.

Landlord/Tenant Dispute, Forest Dale Road

Brandon Police were dispatched to a residence/apartment building on Forest Dale Road for an ongoing landlord/tenant issue at the residence.

Assist - Agency, VT Route 73

Assisted the Brandon Fire Department with contacting a business regarding a disabled motor vehicle/hazmat scene on Route 73 in Goshen.

Fingerprints completed for educational employment at the Lothrop Elementary School/RNESU.

Attempt to Locate, Pearl Street/Conant Square

An officer on routine patrol in downtown Brandon located an individual with an active arrest warrant in the area of Pearl Street and Conant Square. The individual was placed under arrest and ultimately transported to the Rutland County Superior Court, Criminal Division, for arraignment.

Alarm, North Street

An audible alarm was reported on North Street in the area of New England Woodcraft. The area was checked by the responding officer, but nothing awry was found.

Threats/Harassment, Robin Bird Lane

Brandon Police spoke with a resident on Robin Bird Lane regarding getting a trespass notice served on an individual residing in Rutland.

Directed Patrol, Grove Street/Conant Square

Brandon Police conducted directed speed enforcement on Grove Street in the area of the Jiffy Mart/Brandon Florist Shop due to ongoing complaints of speeding during the morning traffic commuter hours. No violations were observed.

Traffic Stop, Forest Dale Road/Town Farm Road

Motor vehicle stop conducted at the intersection of Town Farm Road and Forest Dale Road for operating with no inspection sticker. The operator was issued a warning for the violation.

Directed Patrol, Center Street/Park Street

Directed foot patrol conducted in the downtown Brandon area for ongoing complaints of juveniles riding bicycles on the sidewalks in violation of the town ordinance. No violations observed.

Welfare Check, Park Street

Officers conducted a welfare check on an individual on Park Street. Contact was later made with the individual, and it was determined that he was okay.

Animal Incident, Supermarket Drive

Brandon Police responded to the parking lot of the Hannaford supermarket for a report of a dog that had been left in a car during the hot weather. The responding officer checked the lot, but the vehicle had already left.

Directed speed enforcement conducted on Newton Road due to ongoing speeding complaints from area residents. No violations observed.

Traffic Stop, Franklin Street/Park Street

A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the intersection of Franklin Street and Park Street for a defective equipment violation. The operator was issued a warning.

VIN Verification, Mount Pleasant Drive

Officers conducted a VIN verification on a motorcycle at a residence on Mount Pleasant Drive.

Search Warrant, Triangle Court

The Brandon Police Department, as part of an ongoing animal cruelty investigation, served a search warrant on a residence on Triangle Court after receiving information that there were new animals being kept inside the home and that the suspect in the case was violating his court-ordered conditions of release that he not possess any animals. One animal was seized from the residence. Criminal charges for violating court conditions will be sought against the defendant. The care and custody of the animal that was seized at the home was turned over to the Town of Brandon Animal Control Officer for safekeeping.
