Trespass, Supermarket Drive
Received an after coverage hours complaint regarding a female who was continuing to trespass at the Hannaford Supermarket even after having been previously charged with shoplifting and trespassing at the store. No Brandon Police officers were on duty at the time, so it was requested that the Vermont State Police respond to the store since the female was believed to be wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Information, North Street
A Brandon resident called the Brandon Police Department inquiring about the legality of performing a burial at sea for her significant other should he pass away on their boat while they are vacationing in Florida. The caller was advised regarding the general legality of her inquiry and how she may want to speak with the authorities in Florida for clarification on the laws in that state.
Crash - Injury to person(s), Grove Street
Responded to Grove Street near Estabrook Park for a report of a vehicle that had struck a utility pole and snapped it in half. It was also reported that electrical lines had been torn off of a nearby residence as a result of the crash and that the falling power lines hit another passing vehicle, causing damage to a pickup truck and trailer. The crash is under active investigation.
Found/Lost Property, Nickerson Road / Franklin Street
An individual dropped off a keychain containing three knitting needles and a U-Haul key that they had located last week on Nickerson Road and Route 7 at the police station as lost property.
Animal Incident, Triangle Court
Brandon Police were contacted by the Town of Brandon Animal Control Officer regarding a dog that had been found, apparently starved to death in a cage, behind a residence on Triangle Court. A criminal case was opened and criminal charges will be sought at a later date upon the completion of the investigation.

Officers were advised of a late-reported trespassing at Hannaford Supermarket. The case is currently under investigation.
Welfare Check, Basin Road
Responded to a residence on Basin Road for a welfare check on a male who had fallen at the Union Street Market earlier today and hit his head on the pavement. It was later determined that the male was okay.
Attempt to Locate, Forest Dale Road / Stone Mill Dam Road
Officers arrested a male on an outstanding arrest warrant out of the Rutland County Court on Forest Dale Road near Stone Mill Dam Road.

Suspicious Activity, Rydon Acres
Received a late-reported complaint that someone had shot a bullet into the window at a residence on Rydon Acres.
Welfare Check, Townline Drive
Responded to a residence on Townline Road for a welfare check on a resident. The subject was located and determined to be safe and sound.
Assist - Public, Franklin Street
An officer stood by for a civil assist at a residence on Franklin Street while the subject of a Relief from Abuse Order picked up their belongings.
Threats/Harassment, Forest Dale Road
An officer spoke with a complainant regarding an ongoing issue over the ownership of a dog. The caller was advised that the matter was civil in nature and that she should seek remedy in civil court to determine ownership of the dog in question.
ATV - Incident, Park Street
Received a complaint of an ATV speeding up and down Park Street by the Brandon Inn. No Brandon Police officers were on duty at the time to respond to the traffic complaint.

Illegal Dumping, Hollow Road
Received a complaint of the illegal dumping of tires on Hollow Road.
Assist - Agency, Country Club Road
Brandon Police assisted the Rutland City Police Department with serving a citation on a resident on Country Club Road. The suspect was subsequently located at the residence and issued the citation in hand.
Welfare Check, Townline Drive
Officers conducted a requested welfare check on an individual on Townline Drive.
Traffic Stop, Grove Street / Pearl Street
A motor vehicle stop was conducted at the intersection of Grove Street and Pearl Street for failure to use a turn signal. The operator was issued a written warning for the violation.
Directed Patrol, Center Street / Conant Square
An officer conducted a directed traffic enforcement patrol of the Center Street/Conant Square area for complaints of various traffic violations.
Information, Grove Street
The Brandon Police Department received information regarding a stolen ATV that was seen in the Town of Brandon recently and had been reported stolen from the Town of Leicester. The information was forwarded to the Vermont State Police-New Haven, as they were the agency investigating the theft.
Retail Theft, Supermarket Drive
Received a complaint from loss prevention at Hannaford Supermarket regarding a male who had stolen from the store. The male was located several days later on Forest Dale Road by an officer on patrol and the subject was issued a trespass notice for the store per the business's request. It was discovered that the male suspect also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of the Rutland County Superior Court for numerous crimes. The subject was taken into custody without issue and then transported to the court for arraignment.

Domestic Disturbance, Smalley Road
Received a call from a resident on Smalley Road regarding a domestic disturbance between a family member and their elderly parent.
TRO/FRO Service, Steinberg Road
A Relief from Abuse Order was served on Steinberg Road.
VIN Verification, Maple Street
An officer conducted a VIN Verification on a vehicle on Maple Street.
Crash - LSA, Town Farm Road / Newton Road
Received a complaint regarding a late-reported hit-and-run accident involving a black GMC pickup truck on Town Farm Road. The black GMC pickup truck was reported to have damage to its driver's side mirror.
Traffic Hazard, Franklin Street / High Street
Responded to a disabled tractor trailer that was causing a traffic hazard on Franklin Street. Officers stood by and provided traffic control until the tractor trailer unit was able to be moved. The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles Enforcement was then contacted regarding the condition of the tractor trailer and sent an officer out to inspect the truck for safety violations.
