Received a complaint of an erratic operator driving a Volkswagen in the area of Grove Street and Champlain Street.

Alarm, Forest Dale Road
Received a call for a residential burglary alarm activation on Forest Dale Road. The residential building was later checked and appeared to be secure.

Assault - Simple, Franklin Street
Responded to the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street for a report of a female student who had assaulted a teacher. An investigation was opened and criminal charges will be sought at a later time against the juvenile.
Suspicious Activity, Grove Street
Responded to the parking lot of the Brandon Florist Shop on Grove Street for a report of a male possibly selling firearms and other items by the side of the roadway. The responding officer made contact with the individual, who was very cooperative, advised the officer that the guns were only "Airsoft" pellet guns and were not real, and that he had permission from the property owner to sell the items in the lot.
Suspicious Activity, Franklin Street
Responded to the Family Heritage Credit Union on Franklin Street for a report of a suspicious male in a white Ford Edge, that had been parked in the parking lot of the bank for over an hour, watching customers. The responding officer checked the bank parking lot, but the vehicle left prior to the arrival of the officer.
Property Damage, Grove Street
An officer responded to Estabrook Park on Grove Street for a report of a black car that was doing "donuts" on the field and ripping up the grass. The responding officer checked the area, did not observe any noteworthy damage to the field, and was not able to locate the vehicle in-question in the area.
Assault - Simple, Franklin Street
Received a late-reported complaint regarding a fight between students that occurred at the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street the day before. No officers were available to take a report at the time due to high call volume. The complainant was advised to have the victim of the assault come down to the police department with their parent(s) if they wanted to file a formal complaint at a later time.

Received a report of an alarm activation at the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street.

Assist - Agency, Grove Street
The New York State Police asked the Brandon Police Department to assist them in trying to locate a wanted fugitive from justice who was reported to be residing in Brandon and who had an active warrant for their arrest.
Fingerprints, Forest Dale Road
Fingerprinting was conducted for several school chaperones.
May 6
Illegal Dumping, Carver Street / Syndicate Road
A complaint of illegal dumping was made by a resident of Carver Street concerning a large amount of garbage they found on Syndicate Road while picking up trash on Green Up Day.
Lost/Found Property, Champlain Street
Received a report of a missing and/or stolen small purple leather wallet in the area of Champlain Street.
Domestic Assault - Misd., Grove Street
Responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Grove Street. Upon further investigation, one of the involved parties was later taken into custody and later released on a flash citation to appear in the Rutland County Superior Court-Criminal Division on May 8, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. for arraignment on the charge of Domestic Assault.
Violation of Court Order, Pine Tree Drive
Received a complaint from a female resident on Pine Tree Drive regarding her ex-boyfriend violating his court conditions of release. A criminal investigation was opened regarding the complaint.
Mental Health Issue, Grove Street
Received a call regarding a mental health issue on Grove Street in which a juvenile was threatening suicide.
May 5
Suspicious Activity, Mulcahy Drive
Responded to the area of Mulcahy Drive for a report of a suspicious vehicle left abandoned in a parking lot, with its emergency flashers on. The vehicle was located and later determined not to have been stolen. The vehicle was left in the lot as the parking lot was private property owned by the housing authority.
Larceny - from Motor Vehicle, Mulcahy Drive
Officers responded to a late-reported vehicle break-ins on Mulcahy Drive. While investigating, officers received information that multiple vehicles had been broken into in the surrounding area.
Alarm, Grove Street
Officers were dispatched to an alarm at the Lucky 7's Dispensary. While en route officers were advised to cancel as the alarm company was able to make contact with staff who were opening the business for the day.
Suspicious Activity, Mulcahy Drive
Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity on Mulcahy Drive where it was reported that individuals in vehicles were attempting to gain access to parked vehicles. The Brandon Police Department would like to remind the public to keep their vehicles locked and secured.

Citizen Dispute, Conant Square
A report of a physical altercation between two males on Conant Square was made. The complaint is under review and/or investigation.
Crash - Property damage only, Richmond Road
Received a call after coverage hours regarding a single car motor vehicle crash on Richmond Road. It was reported that the operator was uninjured, but that there was a dog in the vehicle that was deceased as a result of the crash. No Brandon Police officers were on duty at the time of the accident, so the Vermont State Police dispatched a trooper to the scene to investigate the incident.
Threats/Harassment, Champlain Street
Received a walk-in complaint regarding threats that were received from the complainant's ex-girlfriend on Champlain Street.
TRO/FRO Service, Franklin Street
Brandon Police served a Temporary Relief from Abuse Order on an individual residing on Franklin Street. The order was served in-hand.
Vandalism, Jones Drive
Officers responded to a late-reported vandalism on Jones Drive.
Alarm, Franklin Street
Officers responded to a building alarm at Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street. It was later determined that the alarm was false.
