Welfare Check, Dunkin Donuts / Conant Square

An officer responded to the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts on Conant Square for a report of several juveniles possibly fighting. Upon arrival on scene, the officer spoke with four juvenile males who stated that they were only "horsing around" and that no one had been fighting.

Traffic Stop, Forest Dale Road / North Street

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Forest Dale Road at North Street for speeding. A written warning was issued to the operator for the violation.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Forest Dale Road at North Street for speeding (49 mph in a 35 mph posted zone). The operator was later determined to have a civilly suspended driver's license for failure to pay fines. The driver was issued a ticket for driving with a civilly suspended driver's license and for speeding.

Directed Patrol, Forest Dale Road / North Street

Directed speed enforcement was conducted on Forest Dale Road and North Street due to ongoing speeding complaints from area residents. Two speeding violations, one operating after civil suspension violation, and one expired registration violation were issued.

Alarm, Franklin Street

An officer responded to a motion alarm activation at the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street. Two open doors were found to have been left unlocked, but no signs of forced entry were discovered.

Motor Vehicle Complaint, Town Farm Road / Newton Road

Received a call regarding a possible disabled motor vehicle in the area of Town Farm Road near Newton Road.

Fraud, Deer Run Road

A resident from Deer Run Road contacted the police department regarding fraud.

Community Policing, Forest Dale Road

First Responders from the Brandon Police and Brandon Fire Departments, along with members of the American Legion of Brandon, participated in a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony held at the Brandon Police Department.

Citizen Dispute, Franklin Street

Received a walk-in complaint at the police station from a woman who was reporting that her husband stole her car and her wallet. It was later determined that the car belonged to the complainant's husband as well as herself, and her wallet was later returned to her.

Larceny - Other, Pearl Street

An elderly resident living on Pearl Street reported that her caretaker had been stealing her property and money. An investigation was opened regarding the complaint.

Pursuit - Vehicle, Grove Street

An officer attempted to pull over the driver of an electric motorcycle on Grove Street for a traffic violation. The operator fled from the officer and then recklessly drove in and out of traffic trying to elude the officer(s), ran through traffic signals in the downtown area of Brandon, and almost hit one of the officers' cruisers head-on that was heading to the area to assist the other officer. The officers attempted to stop the operator but cut off the pursuit because of the rider's dangerous operation and to reduce any risk to the public. It is believed that this is the same operator who has run from multiple law enforcement agencies recently, and an investigation is underway to try to identify the operator.

A Church Street resident contacted the police department requesting assistance in facilitating the return of her ex-boyfriend's property that had been left at her residence.

Crash - Property Damage Only, Franklin Street / McConnell Road

Officers were dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Franklin Street and McConnell Road. When officers arrived on scene, they determined that the crash had occurred in the parking lot of the Green Mountain Market. Both vehicles sustained very minor damage and were able to be driven from the scene.

Directed Patrol, Carver Street / Syndicate Road

Directed patrol conducted for ongoing complaints of speeding, littering, and drug activity in the general area of Carver Street.

Traffic Stop, Conant Square / Pearl Street

Motor vehicle stop conducted on Conant Square at Pearl Street for defective equipment. The operator's vehicle was later found to have an expired registration and was subsequently issued a ticket for the violation.

Motor Vehicle Complaint, Wheeler Road / Forest Dale Road

Officers responded to a motor vehicle complaint at the intersection of Wheeler Road and Forest Dale Road regarding a possible disabled/abandoned vehicle. The responding officer observed a vehicle that had been left on the roadway with no owner or operator in the area. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the roadway for being unregistered.

Welfare Check, North Street

A welfare check was requested by a family member for an individual residing on North Street who was having issues with her son, who was using drugs and causing issues in the household. The subject was later found to be safe and sound.

Larceny - Other, Stone Mill Dam Road

A property owner on Stone Mill Dam Road called to report that someone stole a yellow 50-amp charging cord from his RV that he had parked on his lot.

Found/Lost Property, Conant Square

Property found in a box of donations, believed to have been donated by accident, was reported to the police department. The owner was notified, and the property was destroyed by request of the owner.

Welfare Check, McConnell Road

A welfare check was requested by the grandmother of a juvenile living on McConnell Road after receiving a call from her in which she was crying and stated that her other grandmother had been allegedly abusive toward her. The responding officers made contact with the juvenile and determined that she was okay. A report was subsequently placed with the Vermont Department for Children and Families regarding the complaint.

Animal Incident, Park Street

An officer was dispatched to the area of Park Street near the village green for a report of a small dog loose in the area.

Fingerprints were completed for a school trip chaperone.

Citizen Dispute, Mulcahy Drive

A resident on Mulcahy Drive called to report that she was being verbally harassed by her neighbor.

Alarm, Grove Street

Officers were dispatched to a commercial burglary alarm at the Lucky 7's Dispensary on Grove Street. While en route the alarm company called advising that police could cancel their response.

Assist - Agency, Union Street

Officers assisted the Rutland County Sheriff's Department in locating a missing juvenile in Brandon. The juvenile was located and found to be safe and in good spirits.

Officers assisted Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks with serving a citation on an individual on Furnace Road.
