Leicester, Vt. — Nellie Ann Foley, age 85, passed peacefully following a long illness on July 18, 2026, at Rutland Healthcare.
Nellie was born in Middlebury on April 4, 1941. She was the daughter of Henry and Vera (Nichols) Gregoire. She grew up in the Brandon area, where she received her early education and attended Brandon High School.
On June 14, 1958, Nellie married Edwin “Peanut” Foley in Leicester, where they raised their family. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and family gatherings.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Jamros and her husband Richard; two sons, Edwin D. Foley, Jr. and his wife, Beverly, and Timothy Foley and his partner, Kelly Duprey; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin “Peanut” Foley, on July 24, 2016, and by her son, Donald Foley.
The graveside committal service and burial took place on July 30, 2026, in the family lot at Brookside Cemetery in Leicester.
