"Do Not Disturb" by Freida McFadden in memory of Maxine Sawyer. Quinn Alexander has committed an unthinkable crime. To avoid spending her life in prison, she makes a run for it. She leaves behind her home, her job, and her family. She flees north, but when an unexpected snowstorm forces her off the road, Quinn must take refuge at the broken-down, isolated Baxter Motel. The handsome and kindly owner, Nick Baxter, is only too happy to offer her a cheap room for the night. Unfortunately, the motel has a dark and disturbing past. And in the dilapidated house across the way, the silhouette of Nick's ailing wife is always at the window. Always watching.

"The Things We Never Say" by Elizabeth Strout in memory of Madelyn C. Neumann. Artie Dam is living a double life. He spends his days teaching history to eleventh graders, goes to holiday parties with his wife of three decades, makes small talk with neighbors, and, on weekends, takes his sailboat out on the beautiful Massachusetts Bay. But inside, Artie is plagued by feelings of isolation. He looks out at a world gone mad — at himself and the people around him — and turns a question over and over in his mind: How is it that we know so little about one another, even those closest to us?

"Whisper Creek" by Allison Brennan in memory of Zula B. Sawyer. Ellen McKenna is doing everything she can to keep her Texas farm afloat. On top of the usual hardships, a series of storms has left the region flooded, and as the rain begins again, all the members of the McKenna family jump into action to protect their land and animals. Ellen’s oldest son discovers an injured dog — and the dog leads him to a man barely clinging to life, the apparent victim of a brutal home invasion. Then, Ellen’s younger kids go to check on a nearby neighbor and walk into a threat none of them saw coming. Before anyone can figure out what’s really going on in their idyllic rural valley, the storm picks up again, and the McKenna kids find themselves in over their heads with no way to call for help.

"Social Animals" by Camille Perri in memory of Edna Jones. Val Caruso, Alex Reed, and June Kennerson come from completely different worlds — Val is a tough-talking private investigator; Alex is reticent, nervous and on the run from her past; and June is an athlete turned housewife whose true love is her pup. When Val is hired by June’s husband to find out if June is cheating on him, it sets these three women on a collision course. Amid a colorful cast of characters who spend time at the shabby but beloved Hamilton Dog Park, they find they have more in common than they thought.

"The Rainy Day Bookshop" by RaeAnne Thayne in memory of Marion C. Sawyer. Sandwiched between caring for her mother and rebuilding the relationship with her estranged daughter, Emma, Rosie Lucas’s life is full. With Emma and her 3-year old daughter, Olive, back home, Rosie has a partner for The Rainy Day Bookshop, the family business, and a chance to fix the past. What she doesn’t have time for is a romantic relationship. And even if she did, Andrew Morgan is the last person she’d choose. Not only is he an arrogant and reclusive writer, but he’s a single dad with two young kids. She’s already been there, done that. Still, as an irresistible flirtation builds between them, he becomes her unexpected confidante on the distance Rosie can’t seem to overcome with Emma, a secret she can’t quite unravel.
