A resident on North Street called the Brandon Police Department to report that she was missing a handgun from her residence.

Suspicious Person, Conant Square

Officers responded to Nifty Thrifty on Conant Square for a report of a suspicious person who was sleeping on the grass outside of the store. Officers located and then moved the individual along.

Assault - Aggravated, Triangle Court

Brandon Police were dispatched to a residence on Triangle Court for a report of a woman who had been stabbed in the back at the home. The first responding officer located a victim inside a motor vehicle at the home with what appeared to be a single stab wound in her back. A second officer from the Brandon Police Department and then two troopers with the Vermont State Police arrived on scene a few minutes later to assist. While on scene, the responding officers were informed by Dispatch that the suspect, later identified as Tamara Stone, was still inside the residence and that she allegedly had stabbed her elderly father. The officers forced entry into the home and located the elderly male with multiple stab wounds inside the residence. The suspect was not located inside the house and was determined to have fled the scene. Both victims were later transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The area was later searched by multiple police agencies, K-9 units, police drones, Vermont State Police tactical officers, and a helicopter from Customs and Border Protection, but the suspect, as of the time of this press release on June 25, has not been located. An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect and an active search is underway to try and locate the offender. The Vermont State Police later took primary lead responsibility for the investigation of this incident.

VIN verification, Pine Tree Drive

Brandon Police completed a VIN verification on a vehicle for a resident on Pine Tree Drive.

Welfare Check, Ballantine Drive

Brandon Police responded to Ballantine Drive for a welfare check per the request of a family member who hadn't heard from his son in several weeks. The individual was later found safe and sound.

June 23

Suspicious Activity, Syndicate Road

Brandon Police responded to the area of Syndicate Road near the Pittsford town line in Brandon for a report of a male and female in a pickup truck that had just stolen tires and rims from a property in Pittsford. The responding officers located both suspects after their vehicle ran out of gas leaving the scene of the crime. After conferring with the property owner, he asked that the subjects return the tires where they took them from and that they be issued trespass notices. The suspects were escorted back to where they stole the tires, put them back, and then were issued verbal trespass notices not to return.

Assist - Agency, Champlain Street

The Brandon Police Department assisted the Rutland City Police with trying to make contact with a female on Champlain Street regarding an ongoing case they were investigating.

June 22

Assist - Agency, Forest Dale Road

The Brandon Police Department served a Relief From Abuse Order on a resident of McConnell Road for the Rutland City Police Department. The order was later served in hand at the Brandon Police Station.

Received information from a complainant concerned with her ex-boyfriend's obsession with fireworks. The concerns were documented at the police department for informational purposes.

Juvenile Problem, McConnell Road

Brandon Police responded to a residence on McConnell Road for a report of an out-of-control teenage girl at the home.

Abandoned Vehicle, Franklin Street

An officer responded to the Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street for a report of an abandoned vehicle in the parking lot.
