The Brandon Artists Guild will host a free artist talk with felt artist Althea Bilodeau Lamb on Friday, Oct. 16. Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m., followed by the talk and audience Q&A at 7 p.m. Bilodeau Lamb is the Guild's current president and its October Artist of the Month.

She is the fifth and final artist featured in the Guild's 2026 Artist of the Month series. The popular annual series spotlights one Guild member at a time, showcasing their work and pairing it with a talk. It is designed as a community engagement opportunity for the public to learn about the arts directly from the artists.

A third-generation fiber artist, Bilodeau Lamb designs one-of-a-kind outerwear, scarves, shawls, and bags. She dyes fine merino wool, silk, and other natural fibers by hand, then turns them into non-woven fabric using her own variation of traditional wet felting. Every piece is made in her Vermont home studio.

"Rooted in tradition and refined through contemporary design, my work transforms the ancient process of felting and dyeing into a distinctive, modern textile language," said Bilodeau Lamb.

Bilodeau Lamb’s understanding of color and textiles was shaped by her mother, a well-known weaver. She later collaborated with American fashion designer Chris Benz on three collections, first hand-dyeing silk charmeuse and then creating felt fabric for the second and third. An item made from her felt was sold at Saks Fifth Avenue. In her talk, she will share what it was like to see her work move from her Vermont studio to the fashion runway and a major department store.

A juried exhibiting member of the Guild since 2006, Bilodeau Lamb has also served as co-president of the organization as well as being the Vermont state representative of the Northeast Feltmakers Guild.
